Who should attend these workshops?

If your job requires that you find high-quality information, then these workshops are for you. Each session focuses on techniques to find the most reliable information on the web, how to search efficiently, and how to stay on top of trends in web research. These workshops are designed for researchers, intelligence officers, scientists, public relations officers, competitive intelligence professionals, consultants, librarians, strategic planners, and IT professionals.

What prerequisites are there? What knowledge or skills do I need to attend?

A basic familiarity with the web searching is advised. Some workshop sessions are designed for advanced researchers; other sessions will develop your skills in the areas of web research and analysis.

What if my organisation wants on-site training? Do you offer customised workshops?

Yes, we do. We can develop a customised version of the Power Searching workshop, with your organisation's information and research needs in mind. We can also adapt many of the workshops that we present throughout the world for your organisation.

Your researchers and knowledge workers will have the opportunity to ask questions and discussion information issues in a confidential setting, rather than in a public workshop forum.

I already know how to use Google. Would I learn anything at a Web Search Pacific workshop?

Yes, you definitely will. In addition to learning undocumented and hidden features of Google, these workshops will cover how to find information hidden from search engines, how to evaluate information sources and determine what information is reliable, how to tap into high-value information resources that go beyond web content, and what new web search tools are available and how to use them.

Your workshops are two days long. Is the agenda the same for both days?

No, each day's workshop covers different topics. While you can register for just one day, most delegates find it much more valuable to attend both days' workshops.

How do I register for a Web Search Pacific workshop?

You can complete the registration form and either email the completed form or print it out and send it to us via fax or post.

What happens if I have to cancel after I've registered for a workshop?

If you cannot attend a workshop, a substitute delegate may take your place. If you wish to cancel your registration, a full refund minus a 20% (incl. GST) service fee will be given, provided you have notified us in writing by letter or fax at least 7 days prior to the date of the workshop. No refunds are available for cancellations with fewer than 7 days' written notice.

Does Web Search Pacific offer continuing-education credit? Do you provide certificates of completion?

Web Search Pacific does not currently offer continuing-education credit programs. We can provide a certificate of completion of a workshop; notify us when you register that you would like a certificate of completion sent to you after the workshop.
