Customised Private Workshops

In addition to our scheduled public workshops, Web Search Pacific offers customised workshops developed for your organisation or group. These workshops are particularly useful for organisations that need a secure and confidential environment in which to discuss specific research or information management concerns. Custom workshops are also useful for groups that need staff training developed specifically for the needs and expertise level of their employees.

What are customised private workshops?

WebSearchPacific presenters are available to conduct private workshops customised especially for individual firms, government departments, professional societies etc., for private in-house presentation.

Who are these workshops designed for?

Private workshops are suitable for organisations where a large number of knowledge workers need to conduct web or online research as part of their work specifications, or where highly confidential or commercially sensitive topics need to be discussed. They are also appropriate for professional organisations that wish to offer a service to their members.

What are the benefits to my organisation?

Unlike the public Web Search Pacific workshops, the private workshops are much more interactive and can be tailored to the specific needs of your participants. Workshops can be expanded to include topics such as intranet design for effective access, train the online search trainers, in-depth training on fee based services, internal marketing of the information centre, and competitive intelligence techniques for your industry. Our goal is to match each workshop to the specific needs of your organisation.

What is the length of a typical workshop?

Private workshops can be designed for half-day, full day or two day sessions.

What deliverables are made available?

All customised private workshops include:

Detailed handouts
An in-depth programme
Live demonstrations of pertinent resources, tools and techniques
A customised, password-protected website with all the resources described during the workshop
Six months of email follow-up, to answer any questions that delegates may have regarding the workshop.

Where are private customised workshops held?

Most private customised workshops are held in your organisation's own presentation facilities, with refreshments and meals provided by your staff, as needed. If an offsite location is desired, your organisation is responsible for making the appropriate arrangements.

When are customised private workshops available?

Private workshops can be scheduled for no additional travel costs in cities where public workshops are being held, in most cases either before or after the public events. Please consult the workshop schedule for available cities and dates.

Private workshops can also be scheduled for other cities, either before all public workshops begin or after they are complete.

What is the format of the workshops?

Classroom style venue is preferred but theatre style is acceptable. A table or podium is required for presenters.

Please note that these are not hands-on workshops. We believe all delegates know how to manage a keyboard and that more ground can be covered if we discuss and explain the issues and the sources and allow delegates to explore the sites in their own time after the workshop.

What IT and audio-visual equipment is required?

Web Search Pacific presenters will provide the computers and software needed for presentation. You are responsible for providing all other equipment including:

Data projector
Data projection screen
Whiteboard
High speed internet access
Microphone(s)

How many participants can attend a workshop?

Customised workshops can accommodate from five to a maximum of 200 people, with a venue of suitable size provided.

How much does a customised private workshop cost?

Web Search Pacific offers a fixed price for private workshops for up to 100 people, with an additional per person fee for more than 100. Additional costs for travel may be incurred if held at locations other than where previously scheduled public workshops are being held.

Who owns the intellectual property to the workshop?

Web Search Pacific will provide printed copies of the workshop materials and will make a private, password-protected web site available for all delegates. Unless otherwise negotiated, the workshop materials may not be reused or distributed within your organisation. Web Search Pacific retains the copyright of the printed materials.
